In many cases, for presentation of passports, certificates, diplomas, etc. in government bodies, courts, embassies, they must not only be translated, but also notarized appropriately. Notary certification of documents, their copies are also often necessary after Apostille for presentation in another country.

Rules of certification documents, notary translation

Notary acts can be made only in case the original document are submitted in the proper form:

• with the name of the organization that issued the document
• with all necessary signatures, stamps, seals
• without any possible damages of the documents
• without unspecified corrections, additions etc.

The procedure of translation and certification of documents suggests that the translator signs the translation, thus he/she confirms the compliance of its content with the content of the original. The notary certifies the identity of the translator, the authenticity of his/her signature and checks his/her diploma of higher education in the specialty of a translator.

Certification of copies is performed in a similar manner. Additionally the notary officially certifies compliance of copies with the original. According to the legislation of Ukraine, notarization of copies is possible for:

• passports (domestic, national, foreign, diplomatic)
• pensioner ID cards, business and other certificates
• residence permits
• police clearance certificates 
• military registration cards, students' IDs, trade union cards etc.

What is the end product of your order like when you receive it?

The original (copy) of the document is filed in a single package with the translation, the package is sealed by the signature of a certified translator, signed and stamped by a notary.

Is the certification of documents by the stamp of the Translation agency possible?

In some cases, a certified translation is required, notary certification procedure is impossible (according to Ukrainian legislation, not all types of documents can be certified this way), or such certification is not necessary (the official body or organization does not impose such a requirement). It may refer to:

• economic, technical, corporate documents
• articles and other textual material
• personal correspondence, etc.

Taken into consideration the above, it would be enough to certify the translation by the stamp of the Translation agency Alphabet. This document would be also bound, sealed and signed by the translator and stamped to guarantee the translation compliance with the original. Note that the cost of document certification by the stamp of the Translation agency is significantly lower than in the case of an appeal to the notary.
